Where to report counterfeits and copycat stores, platform by platform
TL;DR
- Report a copy where it lives: a listing goes to the marketplace; a copycat website goes to its store builder, then its host, then its registrar.
- Almost every platform takes reports only from the rights owner or an agent they authorise. Trademark and counterfeit claims usually need a registration number; copied photos and product text can go in as copyright claims without one.
- This directory links the official form for 157 platforms, each read on the platform's own site on 14 Oct 2026. 17 platforms where we could not find an official route are left out rather than guessed.
- Takedown can file these reports for you, and files nothing until you approve each case.
Each platform runs its own reporting route, with its own name (VeRO on eBay, Report a Violation on Amazon, IPPC on TikTok Shop, IPP on Alibaba and AliExpress) and its own rules about who may file. The tables below list them by type: marketplaces, store builders, hosts, registrars, payment providers, ad platforms, social media, search engines and app stores. A step-by-step guide is linked wherever we have written one.
What you'll need
- The exact URL of each copy. A listing link, not the shop's home page. Shopify, Etsy and most marketplaces reject a bare store link.
- Your registration numbers for trademark claims: the office (USPTO, UKIPO, EUIPO), the number and the classes.
- Links to your original work for copyright claims: your product page or the photo's original location.
- Screenshots with the URL and the date visible, in case the page changes before the platform looks.
- A letter of authorisation if someone other than the rights owner is filing.
Not sure who hosts a site? The free abuse contact finder looks up the host and registrar abuse addresses for any domain, and the DMCA notice generator drafts the notice.
Marketplaces
General marketplaces in the US, UK and EU.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon | Amazon Brand Registry (Report a Violation tool); Report Infringement form for rights owners not enrolled | Intellectual property rights owners and their agents. Brand Registry members report through Report a Violation; rights owners without Brand Registry use the Report Infringement form. | Brand Registry requires a pending or registered trademark from the government trademark office of a country with an Amazon store, and the brand name must be permanently affixed to the product or packaging; after applying, Amazon emails the trademark correspondent a verification link that must be answered within 7 days. |
| Bol.com | Notice and Take Down (NTD) procedure | Brand owners without a seller account (form on leveranciers.bol.com), bol sales partners (seller account, partner.bol.com/sdd/brandprotection/ntd-dsa), trusted flaggers and authorities | Notices in languages other than Dutch, English or French are not processed. Bol may stop handling notices for up to three months from parties that often submit incorrect reports. Use one form per issue type. |
| Douglas Marketplace | Verstoß melden (DSA notice procedure) (policy) | Anyone, including anonymous reporters, who sees third-party content that may break the law, the terms or Douglas policies | Douglas's terms say third-party content is reported with the 'Verstoß melden' button. The DSA contact for authorities is authorities-dsa@douglas.de (German or English). |
| eBay | Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) Program | Rights owners or their authorised representatives only. Anyone else must use the normal listing report tools. | Sellers get the rights owner's contact details in the removal notice, and a DMCA counter-notice reinstates a US copyright removal unless the rights owner files suit within 10 business days. |
| Facebook Marketplace | Meta intellectual property reporting (trademark report form); Brand Rights Protection | Trademark owner or authorised representative. Brand Rights Protection is for businesses with a registered trademark that apply for access. | Brand Rights Protection lets brands with a registered trademark report counterfeit, trademark, copyright and business-impersonation content across Facebook Marketplace, buy and sell groups, Shops, ads, Pages and Instagram accounts from one tool. |
| Instagram Shopping | Instagram trademark report form; Meta Brand Rights Protection | Trademark owner or authorised representative; Brand Rights Protection for businesses with a registered trademark. | Instagram has its own trademark report form, separate from Facebook's, and it also covers Threads; Brand Rights Protection covers Instagram accounts, posts, ads and Shops alongside Facebook. |
| TikTok Shop | Intellectual Property Protection Center (IPPC) | Businesses or individuals that create or join an IPPC organisation, pass identity verification (KYC), and have their IP asset approved; roles are Admin, Rights Owner and Agent. | The IP must be registered and approved in IPPC before you can file, it must be active in the country you report in, and registered designs can be stored in IPPC but design complaints go through a separate webform. |
| Allegro | Współpraca w Ochronie Praw (WOP) | Rights owners and other entitled parties, such as a brand representative | There are two routes: register a WOP reporting account, which is verified with priority and suits repeat reporting, or send a one-off email to program.wop@allegro.pl. Your email may be shared with the seller. |
| Cdiscount | Notification de contenu illicite (DSA notice form) | Any individual or entity | One DSA form accepts up to 100 listing URLs per ground. Cdiscount does not pre-screen marketplace listings, and the notifier's declaration lets it share the notice with the affected seller. |
| Fruugo | Notice and Take Down Procedure (Third Party Legal Complaints Policy) | Rights owner or brand agent | Fruugo forwards your complaint and contact details to the seller, and you agree to engage with the seller in good faith. Give a secondary contact address if you do not want your own passed on. The initial response target is 3 working days. |
| Joom | not found (copyright agent email and DSA illegal-content notices) (policy) | Copyright owner or person authorised to act on its behalf; Joom says it takes down listings on requests from rights holders and their representatives | Joom's merchant IP policy escalates sanctions: 1st infringement warning plus 10 penalty points, then 3-day, 7-day and 30+ day suspensions, and permanent blocking on the 5th. |
| Kaufland Global Marketplace | Melde- und Abhilfeverfahren (DSA notice and action) (policy) | not found | Kaufland's terms (§8) state it offers 'Melde- und Abhilfeverfahren' and an internal complaints system, and may suspend notices from users who abuse them. I did not find the IP reporting entry point itself. |
| LightInTheBox | Intellectual Property Infringement Policy (Terms of Use 4.3-4.4) (policy) | IP rights owner or person authorised to act for the owner | LightInTheBox says email to ipip@lightinthebox.com is the only reliable channel and it accepts no liability for delays if a complaint is sent by post or other channels. |
| Miravia | Miravia IPR Protection Policy (online IPR complaint form) | Rights holders | Miravia accepts only trademarks and patents registered for the EU or the relevant member state. It will not decide 'similar but not identical mark' disputes and accepts no breach-of-contract takedowns. General DSA notices go through the in-app 'Report' button. |
| Otto | Rechtliche Bedenken melden (DSA notice procedure) (policy) | Anyone, including product owners and trusted flaggers | There is no standalone form: use the 'Rechtliche Bedenken melden' link (megaphone icon) on each product detail page. Report categories include Urheberrechtsverletzungen, Markenrechtsverletzungen, and Patent- und Designverletzungen. |
| Walmart Marketplace | Walmart Brand Portal and IP Claim Form | IP rights owners or their authorised agents, who declare under penalty of perjury that they are the owner or agent. | The Brand Portal accepts only USPTO-registered trademarks, and Walmart won't enforce exclusive-distribution agreements because first-sale resale is not IP infringement. |
| Whatnot | IP Policy (DMCA Notice of Alleged Infringement; trademark notices) (policy) | Only the rights owner or someone authorised to report on their behalf (e.g. an attorney or agent). | Whatnot says it will not mediate trademark disputes: it does a limited investigation and removes content only in clear cases of infringement, so include registration numbers. |
| Wish | Report Intellectual Property (IP) Violations form / Brand Partner Program | Rights owner, authorised representative or employee | Patent reports on the Wish form require a court order requiring removal of the product, and each report is capped at 500 listings. |
| Banggood | Intellectual Property Policy Statement (Intellectual Property Claims) (policy) | IP holder or a complainant with a stated authorisation relationship to the holder | Claims must be emailed in English with the subject line 'IP infringement Claim'; incomplete or inaccurate notices get no response. |
| Best Buy Marketplace | not found (policy) | Copyright owners or people authorised to act for them (DMCA notice to the Best Buy Copyright Agent). | Best Buy's terms confirm a Best Buy Marketplace where unaffiliated Marketplace Sellers list alongside Best Buy, but the only IP channel published there is the DMCA agent (dmca.agent@bestbuy.com; BBY Solutions, Inc., 7601 Penn Ave. S, Richfield, MN 55423). |
| eMAG | Sesizări privind conținut ilegal (DSA) | Any person or entity, including IP rights holders and authorities | eMAG has no dedicated IP portal. Use the general contact form and choose 'Sesizări privind conținut ilegal'. |
| Fnac / Darty | Signalement de contenu illicite | Anyone who finds illegal content on fnac.com | Fnac's DSA notice page lists 'Vente de contrefaçons' and 'Violation de droits de propriété intellectuelle' as reportable. Knowingly false notices are a criminal offence in France (1 year and EUR 15,000). |
| ManoMano | Signaler un contenu illicite (DSA notice form) | Any individual or entity | ManoMano's DSA form is hosted on Zoho Survey, linked from the manomano.fr footer 'Notifier un contenu illicite', and is available in EN, FR, IT, DE and ES. ManoMano may share your identity with the seller where strictly necessary. |
| Newegg | not found (policy) | Copyright owners or authorised agents (DMCA); trademark and other IP owners by email. | Newegg splits IP complaints by email: copyright@newegg.com (DMCA), trademarks@newegg.com (trademark) and infringement@newegg.com (other IP), all to the Legal Department at 21688 Gateway Center Dr., Suite 300, Diamond Bar, CA 91765. |
| OnBuy | not found (policy) | not found | OnBuy's Prohibited Products policy section 10 bans counterfeits, copyrighted photos or text on product pages, design- or patent-infringing products, and unauthorised parallel or grey imports listed without the rights owner's consent. |
| Reverb | Intellectual Property Policy (flag the listing via 'Report this Listing') | Any signed-in Reverb user can flag a listing; Reverb may require identity verification and documentation of the claimed right. | You must be signed in to a Reverb account to report a listing, and Reverb may restrict new accounts from reporting. |
| Target Plus | not found (policy) | Copyright owners (DMCA). No rights-owner program for Target Plus partner listings was found. | Target's terms say a copyright owner must send a written letter 'by fax, regular mail, or email only', and Target says it is not responsible for products from Target Plus Partners. |
| Wayfair | Wayfair Intellectual Property Claim Form | The copyright owner or their agent (the DMCA notice path in Wayfair's terms). | Wayfair's terms send copyright claims to an electronic Intellectual Property Claim Form and call it 'the most efficient way' to submit a DMCA notice. |
Cross-border and wholesale marketplaces
Where most counterfeit supply is listed.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| AliExpress | Alibaba International IPP Platform (Intellectual Property Protection Platform) | IPR owner or an agent holding a letter of authorisation signed or stamped by the owner | A single complaint can include at most 300 listings, and AliExpress.ru is a separate operator: its listings must be reported via business.aliexpress.ru/legal-docs/article/intellectual-property or ipr_protection@aliexpress.ru, not IPP. |
| SHEIN Marketplace | SHEIN Intellectual Property Notice Portal (IP Notice Portal) | The IP rights holder or an authorised representative acting on their behalf. | The IP right must be in force in the country where you report (a UK trademark cannot support a US takedown), and each notice can rely on only one IP right. |
| Temu | IP Infringement Reporting Portal ('Portail PI') and Brand Registry portal | Rights holder or an agent authorised to submit notices on their behalf (portal); any user can also use 'Report this item' on a product page. | Temu's policy names order IDs from test purchases as supporting evidence, and repeated manifestly unfounded reports after a warning can get your reporting ability suspended. |
| Alibaba.com | Alibaba International IPP Platform (Intellectual Property Protection Platform) | IPR owner or authorised agent (authorisation letter signed or chopped by the owner) | Alibaba says unauthorized resale alone is not infringement: the FAQ states that if a seller merely lacks your authorisation it cannot conclude the seller infringed your IPR, so complaints must show the listing actually infringes a registered right. |
| 1688.com | Taobao and Tmall Group IPP platform (淘天知识产权保护平台) | IPR owner or authorised agent | 1688 is a China-domestic wholesale site; the Alibaba IPP policy says domestic platforms accept take-downs based on China-registered IP rights. |
| Global Sources | Global Sources Intellectual Property Rights Protection Policy (IP Complaint Notice) (policy) | IPR owner or its agent; agents/affiliates must provide a certified copy of a power of attorney | The alleged infringer is given three full working days to rebut before Global Sources removes the material, and rights must be registered in the 'Relevant Territory' (where the infringement occurs, goods are made, or are offered/sold). |
| JD.com | JD IP Protection Platform (京东知识产权保护平台) | IP owner (individual or enterprise account) or authorised representative | One JD complaint portal covers JD.com, Jingxi, JD International (JD Worldwide) and 1号会员店, but each platform's IP policy is applied separately. |
| Made-in-China.com | IPR Complaint (Virtual Office online complaint management) | IPR holder or authorised representative (power of attorney; holder name must match the certificate) | Links can be bulk-uploaded via Excel template (max 800 links, 5MB); online complaints are generally handled in 3-5 working days versus 5-7 for email complaints. |
| Pinduoduo | Pinduoduo IP Protection Platform (拼多多知识产权保护平台) | Rights holder (individual or company) with a verified complaint account | In counterfeit cases a Pinduoduo merchant has 7 working days (T+7) from the notice to appeal with proof of genuine sourcing; the portal's English guidance warns foreign owners to register marks in China. |
| Taobao / Tmall | Taobao and Tmall Group IPP platform (淘天知识产权保护平台) | IPR owner or authorised agent | Alibaba's IPP policy states its China domestic platforms such as Taobao accept take-down requests based only on China-registered IP rights, so a US/UK/EU-only trademark is not enough. |
Resale and second-hand marketplaces
Mostly genuine resale; report only fakes and copied photos.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zalando | Report a legal concern (DSA notice and action) (policy) | Any user or rights holder | Every product page has a 'Report a legal concern' button that files a complaint under the EU Digital Services Act. Zalando says it checks and moderates partner content before upload. Legal contact and Art. 12 DSA single point of contact: legalnotice@zalando.co.uk. |
| Depop | Depop Intellectual Property Policy (Infringement Notice) (policy) | Rights owners or authorised parties. Depop may ask for a letter of authorisation, identity verification or documents for the right. | Depop may give the seller a copy of the infringement report, including the reporter's name and email address. |
| Mercari | Mercari Authorized Reporting System (MARS) | IP owners or authorised representatives. Mercari may ask for a letter of authorisation or identity verification. | Mercari forwards the notice, including the reporter's name and email, to the seller; it rejects reports that try to enforce selective distribution, MAP pricing or contract terms. |
| Poshmark | Poshmark IP reporting form | Anyone who believes content on Poshmark infringes IP rights they own or control (or their agent). | Poshmark splits emailed complaints: copyright@poshmark.com for copyright and ip@poshmark.com for all other IP; the designated agent is Legal, 203 Redwood Shores Parkway, Floor 8, Redwood City, CA 94065. |
| Trendyol | Report a legal concern (DSA reporting mechanism) (policy) | Any user | On Trendyol's EU site you report IP problems with the 'Report a legal concern' button on the product detail page. Trademark infringement is the example Trendyol gives. |
| Vinted | Vinted Notice & Action form (IP infringement) | IP rights owners or people acting for them. Vinted says others can't submit IP reports through the form. | Vinted's form lists IP issues as 'trademarks, copyrights, patents, and designs', and Vinted says a counterfeit listing is permanently removed and the seller's account suspended. |
| GOAT | Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy (policy) | Copyright owner or authorised agent; trademark owner or person authorised to act for the owner; owners of other IP rights. | Trademark notices must include a copy of each relevant federal registration certificate, or for unregistered marks, evidence of the nature, period and geographic area of use. |
| Grailed | Grailed DMCA Copyright Policy (policy) | Copyright owners or people authorised to act for them. | Grailed publishes only a copyright (DMCA) channel; for counterfeits its terms say it cooperates with 'lawful requests of brands and law enforcement' and may disclose seller contact details when a court order or law enforcement requires it. |
| Myntra | not found (policy) | not found | Terms of Use name a Grievance Officer (customergrievance@myntra.com) under the IT Act and Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020; no separate IP notice channel is published there. |
| StockX | not found (DMCA Notice section of Terms; separate Enforcement Policy) (policy) | Owner or controller of a copyright (DMCA notice to the designated agent). | Items StockX designates as suspected inauthentic can be destroyed or delivered to law enforcement or the applicable brand, and StockX may disclose the seller's information to brands in an investigation. |
| The RealReal | not found (only a DMCA 'Procedure for Claims of Copyright Infringement' in the Terms of Service) (policy) | Copyright owner or person authorised to act on the owner's behalf (DMCA Copyright Notice to the Designated Agent, Legal Department). | The RealReal authenticates in-house and says brands are not involved; it cooperates with brands tracing counterfeits but reveals consignor contact details only when required by court order or law enforcement directive. |
Handmade and print-on-demand
Logo and artwork misuse shows up here first.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Etsy | Etsy Reporting Portal (IP reporting) | The owner of the property, or someone authorised to report for the owner. Agents upload a letter of authorisation, which Etsy checks before the report can be submitted. | Etsy may reject a trademark claim backed only by a pending application; it needs a valid, active, registered mark, and listings must be reported by listing URL rather than shop name. |
| Printful | DMCA Takedown Notice + IP Registry | Copyright or trademark holders or their authorised representatives; the IP Registry is for rights holders, brand owners or their representatives. | Printful fulfils products for merchants' own stores (Shopify, Etsy and others), so a notice to Printful stops production but the listing on the merchant's channel needs its own report. Trademark claims go by email to content@printful.com. Processing can take up to 10 business days. |
| Printify | DMCA Notice / Trademark Violation Form + IP Registry | The copyright or trademark owner or an authorised representative. | Copyright and trademark use separate forms: copyright at printify.com/dmca-notice, trademark at printify.typeform.com/to/pEcir4. Brand owners can also register marks in the IP Registry (printify.com/ip-registry-form) so matching designs are blocked proactively. |
| Redbubble | Notice and Takedown procedure (IP/Publicity Rights Policy) | Only the rights holder or someone acting on their behalf (e.g. an attorney); third-party reports are not valid takedown notices. | Process is modelled on the US DMCA but also covers trademark and publicity rights; if the seller counter-notices, the complainant has 14 days to take legal action in the US before the seller can ask for reinstatement. |
| Spreadshirt (incl. Spreadshop) | not found (no named program; legal team email) (policy) | Not specified; the page says anyone who finds a suspicious design can email the legal team. | Spreadshirt screens uploads against registered word and figurative marks (e.g. Nice class 25 for clothing, checked on TMview) and rejects them. To report a design already live, email legal@spreadshirt.co.uk (Spreadshirt UK) or legal@spreadshirt.net (Spreadshop help page). |
| Spring (formerly Teespring) | IP Claim Form (Notice and Takedown Report Form) | The IP owner or a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf. | All claims must go through the IP Claim Form (email policy@spri.ng only for technical problems). Spring aims to respond within 1-2 business days, and the form asks for the date of first use in commerce. |
| TeePublic | Intellectual Property Policy (DMCA notice to Legal Department) (policy) | The owner of the copyright or other IP, or a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf. | All notices and counter notices go by email to legal@teepublic.com (the preferred method). TeePublic says it will also respond to notices from jurisdictions outside the US. |
| CafePress | Report an Alleged Infringement (DMCA / IP notice) | The copyright or IP owner, or a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf. | Notices go through the free-text contact form on the Report Infringement page (email, subject, description) or by mail to the Legal Department - Infringement Claims Group, 23801 Calabasas Rd, Calabasas, CA 91302. There is no structured field per listing, so put every URL in the description. |
| Creative Market | DMCA Takedown notice via support request + 'Report Product' button | The copyright owner or their authorised representative; any user can use 'Report Product' (reason: Copyright infringement / DMCA). | A report does not remove the product automatically; it starts a review, and Creative Market says it cannot judge whether a product infringes. The Report Product reason lists logos and characters, so trademark logo misuse can be flagged there. |
| Gumroad | DMCA Takedown notice (User Agreement Section 22) + Report a Gumroad creator form | Copyright owner or their legal agent for DMCA; anyone can use the general report form. | Gumroad requires an official written DMCA notice that it forwards to the seller. Under its help article, a first violation removes the product and a second gives the seller two weeks' notice before account deletion. |
| Ruby Lane | Copyright Infringement Policy (DMCA) (policy) | The copyright owner or a person authorised to act for the owner; trademark reports also go to the same email. | Ruby Lane will not disclose a seller's contact details without a DMCA 512(h) subpoena. Trademark (not copyright) reports go by email to dmca1@rubylane.com with the mark, registration, geographic scope and URLs. |
| Society6 | IP Takedown Procedure (Copyright (DMCA) and Trademark) (policy) | Copyright: the owner or an authorised agent. Trademark: only the owner (or authorised agent) of a live US federal trademark registration. | Trademark takedowns are accepted only for a live US federal registration. State, common-law and non-US (UK/EU) marks are rejected as invalid, and Society6's trademark decisions are final and cannot be appealed. |
| Zazzle | Zazzle Copyright Policy (Copyright Agent notice / Report Violation link) (policy) | The IP owner or a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf. | Every product page has a 'Report Violation' link that accepts the same notice. Email copyright@zazzle.com with cc to legal@zazzle.com. |
Regional marketplaces
Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and eastern Europe.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flipkart | Flipkart Infringement Verification (infringement policy); Brand Assure for trademark owners per third-party guides (policy) | Intellectual property owner or its authorised agent. | Flipkart cannot process requests that do not give exact product IDs. |
| Mercado Libre | Brand Protection Program (BPP) | Any rights holder or its agent; an agent must attach a current power of attorney from the rights holder. | If the rights holder does not review a seller's response within four days, the listing is reactivated automatically; the brand, not Mercado Libre, decides the dispute. |
| OfferUp | Intellectual Property Report Form | Intellectual property rights owner or someone authorised to make the complaint on the owner's behalf. | The form has 'Counterfeit goods' as its own IP type and accepts bulk upload of item links; OfferUp may give a copy of the notice to the reported member. |
| Qoo10 (Japan) | Qsafe | Brand rights holders who are Qsafe members (companies). | Qoo10 sends brand-rights problems to Qsafe, where members search and report listings themselves; covered rights include trademark, copyright, portrait/name rights, design, utility model and patent. |
| Shopee | Shopee Brand IP Portal | IPR Owner or an agent duly authorised by the IPR Owner (IPR Agent). | Shopee does not enforce exclusive-distribution or minimum-advertised-price agreements; those breaches are not treated as IP infringement (ToS 8.5). |
| Coupang | 게시중단요청서비스 (post takedown request service) (policy) | Rights holder whose rights (copyright, trademark etc.) are infringed by a posting. | Coupang Terms art. 37: a rights holder may request removal of an infringing posting; the published contact for the takedown request service is Coupang 1577-7011. |
| Craigslist | DMCA copyright notification (Copyright Agent) (policy) | Copyright owner or person authorised to act on their behalf. | Craigslist publishes only a DMCA copyright channel and asks for the posting ID; no trademark or counterfeit-specific procedure is published. |
| Lazada | Intellectual Property Protection (IPP) Platform; IPP Plus for high-volume filers | Rights holders or their authorised agents (agents upload the rights holder's ID and a letter of authorisation). | More than 99% of takedown requests were processed within 3 business days (2020); IPP Plus members get under 2 business days. |
| Tokopedia (with TikTok Shop Indonesia) | Tokopedia Brand Alliance Program; IP reporting portal (Portal Pelaporan HKI) (policy) | IP rights holders (per press coverage; not confirmed on an official page). | Tokopedia's Terms list unauthorised use of another's brand (including in names, descriptions, videos or photos) and counterfeit/imitation/pirated goods as prohibited items. |
Store builders
Where a copycat store is built. They can close the store, not the domain.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hostinger Website Builder | Hostinger Trademark/Copyright Infringement Policy (email abuse@hostinger.com) | Owner of a registered trademark or bona fide copyright, or an authorised agent | Trademark claims need a national registration; state and Supplemental Register marks are not accepted. Hostinger forwards your notice to the alleged infringer. The same policy covers Hostinger hosting. |
| Shopify (merchant stores) | Trademark or trade dress infringement notice / DMCA copyright notice (Report an issue) | The trademark, trade dress or copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf. | List every infringing page URL; a general store link is not accepted. Copyright notices use the form at https://www.shopify.com/legal/tools/report-an-issue/dmca or legal@shopify.com. Shopify can terminate repeat infringers, including all shops run by the same person, and can disable a store for a single wilful infringement. |
| Shoplazza | Shoplazza Feedback & Support: Intellectual property report | Copyright or trademark owner | Reporting a merchant means logging in to (or creating) a Shoplazza account. The AUP bans selling goods without the rights owner's authorisation. |
| Ueeshop | Ueeshop 违规举报 (Violation Report) form | Rights owner (trademark, copyright, likeness) | Ueeshop describes itself as a third-party hosting platform that does not intervene in shop operations. On a valid report it notifies the merchant, so escalate to the host or registrar if nothing happens. |
| Big Cartel | Big Cartel Copyright Complaint Form / Trademark Claim Form | Rights owner or authorised agent | Big Cartel runs a three-strike policy and terminates a shop on its third valid claim. It forwards the claim to the merchant and does not resolve disputes between the parties. |
| BigCommerce (Commerce) | Commerce DMCA / IP report form | Rights owner or authorised agent | The single form covers copyright, trademark, counterfeit goods, and logo or brand misuse. BigCommerce now redirects to commerce.com. Your contact details may be shared with the merchant. |

| WooCommerce / WordPress.com (Automattic) | Automattic DMCA Notice and Trademark Policy complaint forms | Rights owner or authorised agent | Automattic only acts on sites hosted on WordPress.com. Self-hosted WooCommerce/WordPress.org stores must be reported to their web host. Notices are forwarded to the site owner and may be sent to Lumen. |
| Ecwid (Lightspeed) | Lightspeed Intellectual Property Infringement Policy notice to designated agent | Rights owner or authorised agent | Ecwid now redirects to Lightspeed's policy. The notice is forwarded to the alleged infringer, and material is reinstated after a valid counter notice unless court action is filed within 10 business days. |
| Webflow | Webflow Trademark Takedown Form / Copyright (DMCA) Takedown Form | Rights owner or authorised agent | Webflow applies its DMCA process to trademark claims too, and a copy of your notice is sent to the party responsible for the content. |

Hosting and CDNs
Where a copycat site is served from.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare (CDN / reverse proxy) | Cloudflare Abuse Reporting (Trust & Safety abuse form) | Anyone; IP complaints should come from the rights owner or authorised agent | Cloudflare does not host proxied sites: it forwards the complaint to the website operator and the hosting provider and gives the host the origin IP so it can locate the content; it may reply to you with additional details, but terminating its pass-through service is 'not normally an appropriate or effective response'. Phishing and malware are the exception: Cloudflare puts a warning interstitial in front of confirmed phishing URLs. You can ask Cloudflare not to forward your name to the site operator for some categories. |
| Hostinger (web hosting) | Hostinger Report Abuse form | Anyone; copyright notices must follow Hostinger's Trademark/Copyright Policy | Hostinger aims to do an initial review within 24 hours and can restrict content or suspend services; the customer can respond and the action may be reconsidered once the issue is fixed. |
| Alibaba Cloud | Alibaba Cloud Reporting Center - Infringement Reporting | Rights holders or authorised agents | Accepted reports are forwarded to the reported party within 5 business days and any reply is relayed to you; incomplete reports are rejected without further notice, and the case closes if the service is suspended. |
| Amazon Web Services (AWS) | Report abusive activity from AWS resources (AWS Trust & Safety) | Anyone; you do not need to be an AWS customer | AWS needs the IP address and an exact timestamp with time zone to identify the resource; anyone can report and AWS passes the report to the customer running the resource. |
| DigitalOcean | Report Abuse at DigitalOcean (abuse form incl. trademark and DMCA sections) | Anyone for abuse; trademark/copyright owner or authorised agent for IP | DigitalOcean forwards valid notices with your contact details to the customer; under its DMCA policy, if the customer does not remove the content it may disable the entire server (Droplet). |
| Hetzner | Hetzner Abuse Form (abuse.hetzner.com) | Anyone | Hetzner asks the customer to remove the content and answer by a deadline; after the deadline and a manual check it can lock the customer's IP address until the content is removed or explained. Reports are handled in German or English. |

Criminal-use suspension: UK law enforcement (e.g. PIPCU, Trading Standards) only. Abuse reports: anyone | From 7 July 2026 new .uk DRS complaints are filed with WIPO, not Nominet: free mediation first, then a summary decision (GBP 200, only if no response) or full expert decision (GBP 750), no VAT. Counterfeit .uk stores can also be suspended by Nominet on request from police such as PIPCU, with no court order. |
| Radix (.store, .online, .site, .shop-alikes incl. .tech, .space, .fun, .website) | [Radix Acceptable Use and Anti-Abuse Policy / Report Abuse](https://abuse.radix.website/ (redirect from https://radix.website/report-abuse); email abuse@radix.support) | Anyone | Radix's AUP lists 'Sale of Fake / Counterfeit Products' (storefronts selling or purporting to sell fake products) and IP infringement as prohibited, and Radix runs proactive suspension of suspicious domains. |

Domain disputes
Getting a domain transferred to you rather than switched off.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| UDRP at WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center | Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), administered by WIPO | Trademark owner (registered or common-law rights) against a gTLD domain or a ccTLD that adopted the UDRP | WIPO fee for 1-5 domains is USD 1,500 with a single panelist (USD 4,000 with three); cases normally finish within about 2 months of filing. Panels cannot award damages or legal costs. |
| ICANN Contractual Compliance (registrar/registry abuse complaint) | ICANN Contractual Compliance complaint: Registrar Abuse (DNS Abuse) / Registry Abuse Contact | Anyone, after first reporting the domain to the sponsoring registrar's abuse contact and getting no reasonable response | ICANN does not police website content or decide trademark disputes; its complaint only checks whether the registrar handled your abuse report as the RAA requires. Report to the registrar first. Registry abuse complaints use https://icann-nsp.my.site.com/compliance/s/abuse-contact. |
| Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) | Uniform Rapid Suspension System (URS) (policy) | Holder of a registered, in-use trademark (or court-validated / statute-protected mark), against new gTLD domains (e.g. .shop, .store, .online, .top, .vip, .xyz) | URS needs 'clear and convincing' evidence (higher than UDRP) and only suspends, never transfers; the winner can extend the suspension one extra year at the registrar renewal price. Providers: Forum (NAF), MFSD srl, ADNDRC. Forum's fee is reported at USD 375 for 1-14 domains (secondary source, not confirmed on Forum's site). |
Payment providers
Cutting off checkout often ends a fake store faster than a takedown.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| PayPal | Infringement Report Policy (Infringement Report form) (policy) | Intellectual property rights owner (or authorised agent) | PayPal acts on websites that merely use PayPal to sell infringing goods: the report goes by email to infringementreport@paypal.com and the remedy is loss of PayPal checkout, not removal of the site. |
| Stripe | Stripe's Intellectual Property Notice Process (IP Notice) | IP owner or authorised representative with a good-faith belief a business uses Stripe to sell infringing goods/services | Stripe requires documentation that you first contacted the business directly, and may share your IP Notice with the business; its only remedy is ending payment processing. |
| Mastercard | Mastercard Anti-Piracy Policy / Anti-Piracy Referral Form (policy) | Rights holders or their agents (issuers have a separate counterfeit reporting process) | Like Visa, Mastercard works through the merchant's acquiring bank rather than the merchant; referrals go by email to ipinquiries@mastercard.com. |
| Visa | Report Brand Abuse / Report Intellectual Property Abuse form | IP owner that has already undertaken enforcement efforts against the merchant | Visa does not act on the merchant itself: it forwards the complaint to the acquirer, and only after the IP owner shows prior enforcement efforts (a cease-and-desist). Test purchases are encouraged and speed processing. |
| Klarna | Ad policies for Klarna advertisers (IP contact) (policy) | Trademark or copyright owner | Klarna publishes only one IP contact, for advertisers on Klarna properties: "If you believe your trademark or copyright has been used improperly by an advertiser, please reach out to merchant@klarna.com." No dedicated counterfeit-merchant form was found. |
Ad platforms
Where fake stores buy their traffic.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram ads) | Brand Rights Protection; Trademark Report Form; Counterfeit Report Form | Rights owner or authorised representative (attorney, agent); Brand Rights Protection requires a registered trademark | Meta shares the rights owner's name, the reporter's email and the nature of the report with the person who posted the content. Brand Rights Protection lets enrolled brands report ads at scale, including scam ads using their name under the 'Other' violation type. |
| TikTok Ads | TikTok Intellectual Property Policy (Trademark / Copyright report forms) | Rights holders (and users) via online form or in-app | The IP policy does not say whether paid ads are covered; use the Trademark form (tiktok.com/legal/report/Trademark) for infringing ads and organic posts alike. Users can counter-notify via in-app appeal. |
| Google Ads | Google Ads trademark policy complaint; Google Ads Counterfeit complaint (via Report Content on Google) | Trademark owner or authorised agent | Google does not restrict trademarks used as keywords, only in ad text; complaints must name specific advertisers by URL. Counterfeit is an egregious violation: accounts are suspended on detection without prior warning. |
| Pinterest Ads | Pinterest Trademark policy (trademark report form) | Trademark owner or authorised representative | Pinterest's anti-counterfeiting rule can revoke a seller's advertising and merchant program access; appeals go to trademark@pinterest.com and may be shared with the complainant. |
| Microsoft Advertising | Intellectual Property Concern Forms (trademark, copyright, counterfeit) | Owner or someone legally authorised: employee, partner, attorney, ad agency representing the brand | Microsoft does not remove organic search results in response to trademark complaints; this form is for ads on Bing, Yahoo and partner sites only. |
| Snapchat Ads | Snap Terms of Service section 9 IP reporting tool | Copyright or trademark owner | Snap routes both copyright and trademark complaints through one help-center tool; copyright@snap.com is for copyright only and other emails are ignored. |
Search engines and browser warnings
Removing results and getting a site flagged as deceptive.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Merchant Center / Google Shopping | Counterfeit products policy; Report Content on Google (Google Shopping) | Rights owner or authorised agent | Counterfeits are an egregious Shopping violation: Merchant Center accounts are suspended upon detection without prior warning and reinstated only in compelling circumstances. The policy page has no rights-holder link; report via the legal troubleshooter's Google Shopping option. |
| Google Safe Browsing | Report a Page to Google Safe Browsing (phishing report) | Anyone | Safe Browsing is for phishing/deceptive sites, not trademark disputes: a fake store that collects card data while impersonating a brand fits; a merely infringing store usually does not. |
| Google Search | Report Content on Google (legal removal troubleshooter); DMCA copyright removal | Rights owner or authorised agent | Google forwards copyright notices to Lumen, which publishes them (minus some personal data) and Google shows a Lumen link where the result was; the site owner can counter-notify and get reinstated. Copying your product photos/text is the most reliable Search route. |
| Bing | Bing Content Removal Form | Copyright or trademark owner or authorised representative only | Bing's removal form covers copyright in algorithmic, image and video results; Microsoft does not remove organic results for trademark complaints and may share notices with the alleged infringer. |
| Microsoft SmartScreen (Edge / Defender) | Microsoft Security Intelligence: Report unsafe site | Anyone | You can report as a guest; signing in with a corporate Microsoft account lets you submit several URLs at once. |
App stores
Fake apps using your brand.
| Platform | Where to report | Who can file | The rule to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple App Store | App Store Content Dispute (and App Name Dispute) | Rights owner whose IP is infringed by an app or Search Ad | Apple does not investigate claims about branded terms used as Search Ads keywords, and in most cases forwards your claim to the developer and asks you to resolve it directly. |
| Google Play | Google Play intellectual property policy; Report Content on Google (Google Play) | Rights owner or authorised agent | Play has separate copyright (DMCA), counterfeit and trademark complaint routes; for trademark, Google suggests contacting the developer directly first. |
Summary
The order to report in
| What you found | Report it first to | Then | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| A counterfeit or copied listing on a marketplace | The marketplace's IP form (table above) | The seller's own store, if it has one | eBay, Amazon, Etsy, TikTok Shop |
| A copycat store on Shopify, Wix, Squarespace or another builder | The store builder | The payment provider taking its orders | Shopify |
| A copycat site on its own hosting | The host (look it up with the abuse contact finder) | The registrar, then the payment provider | Fake website takedown |
| A domain using your brand name | The registrar's abuse contact | UDRP or URS if you want the domain itself | Lookalike domain finder |
| Ads sending shoppers to a fake store | The ad platform's IP or brand form | The store's host and payment provider | Ad platforms table above |
If you would rather not file these yourself, Takedown finds the copies, a person checks each one, and our team files only the cases you approve.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a registered trademark to report a counterfeit?
On most marketplaces, yes, for a trademark or counterfeit claim: the form asks for a registration number, and Amazon Brand Registry requires one. Copied product photos and descriptions can be reported as copyright infringement without registering anything.
Can someone else report infringement for my brand?
Yes, if you authorise them. Every platform listed here accepts reports from the rights owner or an agent acting for them, usually with a letter of authorisation or, on some marketplaces, an approved agent account.
What if the platform rejects my report?
Most rejections are about evidence: the wrong right claimed, a missing registration number, or a link to the store rather than the listing. Fix the specific gap and resubmit. A counter-notice is different: the seller disputes the claim, and under the DMCA the platform can restore the content after 10 to 14 business days unless you show it that you have filed a lawsuit.
How do I take down a whole fake website, not just a listing?
Report it to the store builder if it uses one, then to the host and the registrar, and to the payment provider taking its orders. Our fake website takedown guide explains the order and why.
