The best brand protection services for small and DTC brands in 2026

For a small or direct-to-consumer brand, the choice comes down to who does the work. Done-for-you services (Bustem, Red Points' managed tier, MarqVision, Takedown) find copies and file the takedowns for you. Self-serve tools (Brand Protector, IP Moat, IPzest, StoreLock) are cheaper and publish their prices, but you review and often file. Enterprise suites (Corsearch, BrandShield, Bolster) cover the most channels and suit larger teams. We checked every vendor's own site on 4 October 2026.

At a glance

Prices are only those the vendor publishes on its own site. Where a vendor quotes on request, we say so rather than repeat figures from third-party sites, which often disagree with each other.

How we chose, and our bias

We included services that a brand with one to a few hundred staff could realistically buy, plus the three enterprise suites that appear on almost every 'best brand protection' list, so you can see what you would gain or give up. For each we read the vendor's own homepage, product and pricing pages on 4 October 2026, and we quote them where it matters. We did not use third-party price estimates.

Takedown is our own service and it is on this list. We have grouped it with the other managed services rather than putting it first, and listed its limitations the same way as everyone else's. Judge it on the same criteria.

The list is grouped by how the work gets done, because for a small team that matters more than any feature table: who reviews the matches, who files the reports, and who chases the platforms that do not act. One vendor that still appears on older lists, Yellow Brand Protection, is not listed separately: it was acquired by Corsearch in 2018 and its domain now redirects there.

Done-for-you managed services

These find the copies, prepare the evidence and file the reports. You approve the cases. None of them publishes a price, so expect a sales call, but they take the work off your team.

Built for
E-commerce brands. It says it works with 160+ e-commerce brands.
Covers
Amazon, Walmart, Meta, TikTok Shop, eBay, Google, AliExpress, Etsy, Instagram, Pinterest, WordPress, Temu, SHEIN, Shopify and Alibaba, plus what it calls 147 more platforms.
Model
AI detection with a human enforcement team. You approve cases in a dashboard and Bustem files the DMCA and platform removals.
Price
Not published. No annual lock-in, according to its site.

Where it wins: it is built around exactly the problem most Shopify-era brands have, the platform list is broad, and it publishes a 500% ROI guarantee ('If we can't deliver at least 5x ROI, you shouldn't work with us'). It says most infringing content is removed within 24 to 72 hours.

Limitations: there is no public pricing or contract detail, so qualification and cost only become clear on a call. Claims about a revenue minimum circulate online, but we could not find one on Bustem's own site.

Red Points

redpoints.com
Built for
Brands of all sizes. It says it serves 1,300+ brands.
Covers
Marketplaces (it claims 5,000+), fake websites and domains, social media, ads, mobile apps, video platforms and search engines.
Model
A self-service platform, plus 'end-to-end protection, fully managed by experts'.
Price
Custom quotes on every tier (Starter, Professional, Enterprise). It markets flat-fee, unlimited detections and takedowns.

Where it wins: the broadest channel coverage of any vendor here, takedowns that are not metered per action, and a revenue recovery programme on the Enterprise tier.

Limitations: no public price, and the entry tier covers marketplaces only. Fake websites and social media are add-ons on Starter, and ads and domains are add-ons on Professional. If copycat stores are your main problem, check what the tier you are quoted actually includes.

MarqVision

marqvision.com
Built for
Mid-size and large consumer brands. Its published customers include Wella, Panasonic, Nissan and Lush.
Covers
Marketplaces, impersonation and content, plus trademark management.
Model
Managed enforcement with platform access, and MarqLaw, its legal services arm.
Price
Not published ('customised pricing based on your specific needs').

Where it wins: brand protection and trademark management in one place, with an in-house legal arm for cases that escalate. It offers a free brand scan.

Limitations: no public price, and its customer list leans towards larger brands than most first-year DTC labels.

Takedown (our service)

trytakedown.com
Built for
Direct-to-consumer brands selling through their own store and on marketplaces, mainly in the UK, EU and US.
Covers
Lookalike domains and copycat stores (domain variants, certificate logs, Google search, reverse image search), Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Alibaba, Temu and TikTok Shop listings, and Meta ads. See fake website takedown and counterfeit listing removal.
Model
Managed. A person checks every match, you approve each case, and our team files with the platform, host and registrar.
Price
Not published. Month to month, no annual lock-in. Quotes come with a free 360° report.

Where it wins: the focus on copycat storefronts, and evidence you can see. We publish breakdowns of real copycat operations against named brands, with the domains, prices and dates, and the same evidence goes into every case before you approve it. The founders answer directly.

Limitations: we are a newer service than everyone else on this list. We do not yet monitor social media accounts or trademark filings, which Red Points, BrandShield, Corsearch and Brand Protector cover. Like the other managed services, we do not publish a price.

Self-serve software

These publish their prices and cost a fraction of a managed service. The trade-off is time: you review the matches, and on some platforms you file the reports yourself.

Brand Protector

app.brandprotector.io
Built for
DTC brands and e-commerce sellers. It was built by a founder for his own supplement brand.
Covers
16 surfaces: Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy, AliExpress, Flipkart, Meesho, TikTok Shop, Temu, SHEIN, Google Shopping, Google Search, AI shopping answers, lookalike domains, USPTO and EUIPO trademark filings, and image clusters. MAP price monitoring is included.
Model
Self-serve. 'Nothing files itself': a notice only goes out after you sign it off, and some platforms need you to complete the filing.
Price
$199/month or $1,499/year, no per-takedown fees or caps, 7-day free trial.

Where it wins: a low, transparent flat price with unlimited volume, and trademark-filing watch included, which several far more expensive services charge extra for.

Limitations: you do the reviewing and sometimes the filing, and social media accounts are not among its listed surfaces.

IP Moat

ipmoat.ai
Built for
Small and medium-sized brands.
Covers
30+ marketplaces including Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Alibaba, AliExpress, Walmart, Temu and TikTok Shop, plus Meta ads and Google Play. 'Any website' on Premium.
Model
Self-service tool, with staff handling marketplace objections, escalations and resubmissions.
Price
Essential $105/month (40 removals, one marketplace, $35 per extra marketplace), Premium $529/month (200 removals, 30+ marketplaces), Enterprise $1,350/month (500 removals). No long-term commitment.

Where it wins: transparent tiers with a low entry price, and a Shopify catalogue import so your product images are ready to match against.

Limitations: removals are capped per tier, and coverage of websites and social media is thinly documented compared with marketplaces.

Built for
Brands selling on marketplaces.
Covers
Marketplaces including Amazon, eBay and Etsy, plus social and ad monitoring.
Model
Self-serve monitoring. Managed filings are included on the Business plan and above.
Price
Professional $148/month, Business $398/month (3 managed filings a month), Intelligence $898/month, Enterprise $2,498/month. 14-day free trial, no card required.

Where it wins: published prices with annual discounts, and a free trial that does not ask for a card.

Limitations: the entry plan includes no managed filings, and extra managed removals are charged per removal on the middle plans.

StoreLock

storelock.app
Built for
Shopify store owners.
Covers
Cloned storefronts, lookalike domains and stolen product images. Custom websites are listed as coming soon.
Model
Shopify app with ready-made abuse report packages. Enterprise plans add assisted enforcement, where its team files for you.
Price
Paid plans from $19/month, with a free trial. Enterprise pricing is not published.

Where it wins: the cheapest focused option if your problem is cloned Shopify stores, and it installs like any other Shopify app.

Limitations: narrow by design. There is no marketplace, social media or trademark coverage, so it does not help with Amazon or TikTok Shop copies.

Enterprise and security-led suites

These appear on most 'best brand protection software' lists. They cover the most channels and suit brands with a legal or security team to run them. For a small brand they are usually more than you need, but worth knowing about.

Corsearch

corsearch.com
Built for
From Fortune 100 companies to emerging start-ups, by its own description.
Covers
Marketplaces, domains, social media, streaming, search engines, websites and app stores, plus trademark screening, clearance and watching worldwide.
Model
AI with human expert review. Includes investigations and revenue recovery.
Price
Not published.

Where it wins: the only vendor here that combines full trademark clearance and watch with online enforcement and investigations. It has absorbed several earlier brand protection companies, including Yellow Brand Protection.

Limitations: an enterprise suite with enterprise buying, and no public price.

BrandShield

brandshield.com
Built for
SMBs through enterprise, with legal, compliance and security teams.
Covers
Marketplaces, domains and websites, social media, paid ads, apps, the dark web, AI platforms and trademark monitoring.
Model
Platform plus managed services, with a round-the-clock security operations centre.
Price
Not published.

Where it wins: the widest mix of security and commerce channels, so it suits brands where phishing and impersonation matter as much as counterfeits.

Limitations: positioned for both security and commerce buyers, and no public price.

Bolster

bolster.ai
Built for
Security and fraud teams.
Covers
Domains, social media, app stores, marketplaces, fraudulent ads, email and the dark web.
Model
Automated detection and takedown. It says 75% of cases are handled in under 60 seconds.
Price
Not published; module-based and billed annually.

Where it wins: speed and automation against phishing sites, fake domains and fake apps. It also runs CheckPhish, a free URL scanner.

Limitations: built for security buyers rather than catalogue-level counterfeit work, and sold annually by module.

How to choose

  • Count your copies first. Run your domain through a lookalike domain finder and search your bestsellers on Amazon and TikTok Shop. A handful of copies is a self-serve problem; dozens of stores and listings every month is a managed one.
  • Decide who files. Self-serve tools are cheap until you count the hours. If nobody on your team can spend a few hours a week reviewing matches and filing reports, budget for a managed service.
  • Check the channels you actually have. Copycat stores, marketplace counterfeits and social impersonation are different problems. Ask each vendor what your quoted tier includes, not what the platform can do.
  • Ask how the vendor handles refusals. Platforms reject a share of reports. Ask who resubmits and chases them, and whether that costs extra.
  • Look at the evidence. Ask to see a real case file. The quality of the evidence decides how many reports succeed.

Frequently asked questions

What is a brand protection service?

A service that finds unauthorised uses of your brand online (counterfeit listings, copycat stores, lookalike domains, impersonating accounts) and gets them removed through each platform's reporting process. Some are software you run yourself; others are managed services that do the filing for you.

How much does brand protection cost for a small brand?

Self-serve tools publish prices from about $19 to $200 a month for a focused scope (StoreLock from $19, IP Moat from $105, IPzest from $148, Brand Protector $199, all checked on 4 October 2026). Managed services quote on request, and you should expect them to cost more because people do the reviewing and filing.

Can I do brand protection myself?

Yes. Every marketplace and host accepts reports from rights owners, and our guides cover eBay, Amazon, Shopify, Etsy and TikTok Shop. The cost is time, and copies tend to come back.

Do I need a registered trademark?

For counterfeit and trademark claims, in practice yes, and Amazon Brand Registry requires one. Copied photos and product descriptions can be reported as copyright infringement without a registration.
