Hijacked sites send Sézane shoppers to shops selling its Gaspard cardigan for €41, 11 of them a day old

An exact-image search on six official Sézane product photos matched them on 112 unrelated websites indexed with Sézane product pages. Opened as a shopper arriving from Google, 32 forwarded us to discount shops selling Sézane knitwear, mostly the Gaspard cardigan. Sézane's own domain front is well defended. Of 100 lookalike domains we checked, 35 were registered and none was a working fake store: most forwarded to sezane.com or sat parked with a brand-protection registrar.

The Gaspard for €41.01, photo pulled live from Sézane

Sézane's product page for the Gaspard, its signature mohair cardigan, is sparse and editorial: the handwritten Sézane logo, a large campaign photo and a short description. The US site listed the ecru Gaspard at $120 when the page was archived in March 2026.

lovengazxc.click is a generic shop called buy sites with a Save up to 50% banner. Its Gaspard in Sea Green page uses Sézane's campaign photo, pulled live from Sézane's image server, and prices the cardigan at €41.01 against a crossed-out €82.02. It adds 37 in stock, 24 people are viewing this right now, and a size menu offering men's shoe sizes for a women's cardigan.

The shop never copied the photo. It requests it from Sézane's own server every time a shopper opens the page.

What we caught

01 · 112 sites with no Sézane linkSearch results

The six photos we searched appeared on 112 websites with no apparent link to Sézane, including a college, a dental practice, a church and a local government office. Their pages carried titles such as Sezane Gaspard Cardigan Light Beige, several of them in Japanese.

02 · 32 redirects, 24 shopsTraffic routing

Opened from a Google link, 32 of those sites forwarded us to another domain. The destinations were 24 different shops, none with a Sézane-like domain name.

03 · Photos served by Sézane's own serverProduct images

Eleven of the shops share one template. Across their pages, 133 different product photos load directly from media.sezane.com, Sézane's own image server. The featured product image is the official Gaspard Sea Green file itself.

04 · 11 shops registered the day beforeRegistration

All eleven template shops were registered on 25 September 2026, the day before our visit, through the same registrar and the same pair of Cloudflare name servers. Names such as lovengazxc.click and masfreefff.click look machine-generated.

Every item at exactly half a made-up price

The route starts on legitimate websites that have been compromised. Their indexed pages carry Sézane product names and photos, so they surface in ordinary searches for pieces like the Gaspard, the Jacky dress or the Aurora dress. Opened from a search result, 32 passed us on to a shop. The rest showed their normal site, an error or a security check.

The eleven template shops all price the same way: exactly half a crossed-out figure, such as €41.01 from €82.02 or €47.99 from €95.98. Their catalogues mix Sézane's official photos with images from second-hand listings on resale sites, which suggests they are assembled automatically from image search results, with no stock behind them.

Copied resale listings, and a screenshot as a product photo

Besides the template shops, five shops on .sbs, .shop and .baby domains copied individual second-hand listings. The three whose records we could check were registered between 25 August and 12 September 2026 through the same registrar. One sells a Sezane Gaspard Cardigan Light Beige for $37.00, 68% off $115.00, with the original seller's photos and the note In like new condition. Another copy of the same listing costs $69.00.

Japanese-language shops made up a third group. One lists a SEZANE GASPARD cardigan for 8,062 yen, down from 13,900 yen, and its lead image is a screenshot of Sézane's own product page, logo included. It claims 118 views in the past 24 hours and warns that stock is running low.

Lookalike domains and marketplaces came back clean

Ten lookalikes, including sezane.shop, sezane.store and sezanne.com, forward to sezane.com. Eleven more, such as sezaneoutlet.shop and sezaneshop.com, show a brand-protection registrar's parking page, consistent with defensive registration. sezanestore.store, registered on 11 May 2026, points at a hosted store platform with no store. sezanefashion.com is an unrelated clothing shop registered in India in 2022 that does not imitate Sézane's site.

The marketplace sweep was thin. eBay returned second-hand Sézane at ordinary resale prices, and Amazon, Alibaba and AliExpress mostly returned unrelated products. Our Temu search tool was blocked, and a Google search found no indexed Temu pages for the brand. Shein search results showed a hoodie listed as SEZANE Logo Printed at $8.73, but the page required verification, so we did not open it. None of the exact-image matches for our six photos were on Temu or Shein. Our social media and ad checks failed and are not covered here.

How to shut it down

The takedown plan, step by step, built from the evidence above.

1

Archive the shops before they rotate

The eleven template shops were one day old when we found them. Save their product pages, prices and redirect paths before the domains are replaced.

2

Block the hotlinks on media.sezane.com

The template shops load their photos from media.sezane.com. Your server logs show which outside domains request Sézane images, and you can refuse them.

3

Report the shops and the hijacked pages

Send the shop domains, with the matching photos, to their registrars and network provider. Ask search engines to remove the hijacked pages carrying Sézane product names.

4

Warn the hacked sites

Many of the compromised sites belong to schools, clinics and small businesses that don't know they host spam. Notifying them closes the entry point as well as the current destination.

Every page view leaves a trail on Sézane's server

Sézane has closed the obvious door: its lookalike domains forward to the real site or sit parked. These shops never needed a Sézane-like domain. They borrowed other people's websites to rank and Sézane's own server for the photos. A shopper who pays €41.01 for a 'Gaspard' there sees Sézane's photo, served by Sézane. If the order goes wrong, Sézane hears about it.

That borrowing is also the weak spot. Every time a shopper opens one of these pages, the shop requests an image from media.sezane.com, and Sézane controls that server.
