4 fake Cut by Fred stores copy its catalogue and sell its gift card at 65% off

Four live stores trade as CUT BY FRED: cutbyfred.shop, cutbyfredshop.shop, cutbyfredstore.shop and thecutbyfred.shop. They sell the brand's shampoos, masks, routines and gift card under its own product names and French descriptions, and every price we opened was cut by 65% or 70%. All four were registered between 20 May and 16 July 2026, run on one storefront template and resolved to the same hosting network. We found them in a sweep of more than 14,000 lookalike domains.

A €39 scalp scrub for $13.96

The official homepage opens on a curly-haired model under a giant yellow CUT BY FRED wordmark, with menus for a personalised routine, hair types, products and the Club by Fred loyalty programme. Prices are in euros, with free delivery from €60 in mainland France.

cutbyfred.shop borrows the black wordmark and the product menus (by product, by hair type, by need) and fills its Trending Now row with Cut by Fred packshots, each tagged -65%. Its product pages repeat the brand's French descriptions, down to the percentages from its consumer tests. Prices are in US dollars, at about a third of what the brand charges.

Nothing on the product pages gives the copy away except the price: a €39 scalp scrub for $13.96.

Four storefronts run on one build

On the surface the storefronts differ. cutbyfredshop.shop runs a banner promising up to 70% off, cutbyfredstore.shop adds a search bar and a Notre Histoire block, and thecutbyfred.shop still shows the template's placeholder hero, Welcome to Our Store. Underneath, all four load the same stylesheet file, store images in the same folder layout named after each domain, and offer the same About, Returns, Shipping and Privacy pages, with the same four-step returns layout in lightly reworded text.

Several collection names match Cut by Fred's own, including Favoris des soldes, Sélection Octobre Rose and Produits éligibles - Offre DOUBLE. Some pages still link to cutbyfred.com collection addresses, a sign the content was lifted straight from the official store. Two domains were registered on the same day, and all four resolved to addresses on the same hosting network.

Complaints may land in Cut by Fred's inbox

Cut by Fred sells its gift card in amounts of 25, 50, 100, 150 and 200 euros. cutbyfredshop.shop lists the same five amounts and the brand's own sales text, from $10.25, crossed out from $29.28. We placed no order, so we cannot say what a buyer would receive. A card bought on a lookalike domain would not have been issued by the brand.

All four stores list support@cutbyfred.com, on the brand's own domain, as their contact e-mail, next to a web form. A shopper whose order never arrives is likely to write there, so complaints about these stores may reach Cut by Fred's customer service. Two homepages carry five-star testimonials signed with names, and cutbyfredshop.shop claims 10,000+ happy customers in 50+ countries. None of the testimonials links to a verifiable review.

Marketplaces and image search came back mostly clean

Amazon.fr's first page of results for the brand name showed other hair-care brands and no Cut by Fred listings. eBay returned second-hand copies of a Cut by Fred hairstyling book and one new Volume Ayurvedic Shampoo at €25, against €39 on the official site; we found nothing to suggest it was fake. Alibaba and AliExpress returned only unrelated cutting tools, wigs and accessories. Temu returned nothing.

Exact-image search found Cut by Fred product photos on 60 pages, mostly stockists and beauty sites that sell or review the brand. Six were unrelated websites indexed with Cut by Fred product names. Three of those forwarded visitors arriving from Google to a separate discount shop; the other three showed their normal homepages when we checked.

How to shut it down

The takedown plan, step by step, built from the evidence above.

1

Archive all 4 stores

Save the homepages, product pages and gift-card pages of all four domains, with their registration and DNS records, before they move or get rebuilt.

2

Report the 4 domains in one batch

Send cutbyfred.shop, cutbyfredshop.shop, cutbyfredstore.shop and thecutbyfred.shop to their registrars, and the three on Cloudflare nameservers to Cloudflare, with the copied descriptions and matching photos as evidence.

3

Warn customers about gift cards

Tell customers Cut by Fred gift cards are sold only on cutbyfred.com. Brief customer service to flag orders or complaints that mention the .shop domains.

4

Catch the 5th store early

Two of the four domains were registered on the same day. Monitor new registrations containing the brand name, especially on .shop.

Your support address is on their contact page

These stores carry Cut by Fred's wording, collection names, photos and customer-service address. The only visible clue is a price that looks too good. If an order goes wrong, the address on the page sends the complaint to Cut by Fred.

The gift card is the sharpest example: the brand's own product, in the brand's own amounts, sold on a domain it does not own. Anyone who buys it is paying for something only Cut by Fred can issue.
